Welcome to Mukkula Farm and Cottages!

Our farm Mukkula is located in the village of Tihusniemi, in Pieksämäki Jäppilä. The distance to Varkaus is 18 km, to Pieksämäki 25 km, Leppävirta 20 km and to Kuopio 75 km.

Mukkula Farm is a flourishing business in South Savo, Pieksämäki Tihusniemellä. The farm practice agriculture, forestry, cultivation of Christmas trees and holiday cottages for hire. Mukkula farm has been in the Roponen family since the 1800s. The current host couple Tuomo and Maritta taken care of the state since 1986, when the state where given them by a change of generation.

Holiday cottages

The cottages are transferred to the building sites beam by beam, which honors the tradition of the old building, with a unique, calming atmosphere; old beams tell the story. Mukkula farm and holiday cottages surrounding nature offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities, berry and mushroom picking and fishing. Our Holiday Cottages are located in the middle of the peaceful natural environment, the beautiful lakeside setting, where you can take a break from everyday life, without cottage neighbors.

There are also domestic animals on the farm: Mortti the goat leads its flock of sheep in landscaping work and with its hilarious personality entertains the everyday life of the host. The masters of the barn building and the stable are the cats Mini and Tirkkonen, while the Turo dog is responsible for guarding the yard and the house.

Christmas trees production has been on our farm for over 20 years. Cultivated Christmas trees shipped from the farm in the nearby areas and we holding staged “self-pouring days”, allowing you to select and cut down your own Christmas tree. Spruce packed in net, for easy transportation.
